Sub-section titles may be created and removed in the M*Modal Editor with the shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+N. Like section titles, the user is unable to format sub-section titles. Formatting of sub-section titles is completed after the document is submitted and rendering occurs. The responsibility of the editor is to identify the correct sub-section title, but not formatting or presentation.
Sub-sections commonly occur in the sections Physical Examination and Review of Systems. Your supervisor will explain the appropriate use of sub-section titles for your account.
The appearance of sub-section titles in a final document will vary by account and worktype. An example of how sub-section titles may appear after rendering is shown below. Formatting of sub-section titles that occurs during rendering includes:
| • | Bolding, Font, and Font Size |
| • | Capitalization |
| • | Punctuation following Sub-Section Titles, i.e. colons (:) |
| • | Spacing between Sub-Section Titles and Content |
| • | Sub-Section Indentation, i.e. flush-left |
In draft documents, sub-section titles will already be identified for you. Edit the draft document for accuracy of sub-section titles with the shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+N.
